After 24-hour marathon talks by various trade bodies of Tamil cinema, the decks were cleared for the release of Kamal Haasan-starrer Uttama Villain today.
the honchos of various trade bodies led by Tamil Film Producers Council president Kalaipuli S Dhanu and Nadigar Sangam president R Sarathkumar chaired a series of meetings to sort out the issues and ensure the movie's release at the earliest.
Finally an amicable solution was arrived at at the meetings after extended deliberations. Announcing that all issues are sorted out, Sarathkumar, addressing media persons at the Eros International office here.
This morning, said, 'We as a family sat together and held discussions to ensure that all ended well. I thank the cooperation extended by producers Gnanavelraja, Madurai Anbu and Kamal Haasan's brother Chandra Haasan. They went out of their way to put an end to the whole issue'.
Denying speculation that the State government was behind the stalling of Uttama Villain's release in any way, Sarathkumar, said, 'It is an issue between us in the industry.
Instead, the government is very cooperative and initiates several measures for the well-being of the film industry'.He said, 'a few technical formalities need to be sorted out to ensure that the movie gets screened from 1.30 pm across all theatres'.
Without going in into the details of the problem, Sarathkumar said, 'It is part of the business and problems accumulated over a period between the producers and distributors.'
