Redhan—The Cinema People
Arivazhagam of Eeram fame is now of the few filmmakers who ensures a blend of reality and fantasy in his films. The likes of Eeram, Vallinam speaks about his talents. Joining the list is Kuttram 23.
Here he takes a thriller angle and speaks about an untold mafia in medical field.Taking crime novel specialist Rajesh Kumar novel, he makes an interesting screenplay for it. The end product is full of gloss and interesting moments.
The gritty writing makes the movie a watchable fare. A hardworking actor like Arun Vijay given a cop's role. He adds more shine to it and makes it an engaging fare with his performance.
As Vettrimaran, an upright police office, he has lived the role. Mahima Nambiar as his ladylove has enough to do on screen. The movie has story narrated visually and the technic works out well.
Arun Vijay is honest police officer and he is given the responsibility to crack the murder case of the wife of a television channel's owner. How he goes about his task and what hurdles he graces form the rest.
Interestingly, he stumbles up on medical mafia. How he cracks the medical racket is the rest.Vishal Chandrasekhar's music is engaging, the song Thoduvanam deserve special mention.
A cop story will generally be loud and action packed. But here Arivazhagan has made it a gritty show with action and emotion too.
Kuttram 23 is an engaging watch.
Kuttram 23 - A good attempt
