Vetri, Aparna Balamurali,
A newcomer trying his hand at a crime thriller. It is the hallmark of 8 Thottakal. From the word go, it makes one sit up and watch with excitement. 8 Thottakal meaning 8 bullets as the title suggests is about how a policeman loses his guns and what happens when it passes to the hands of another man.
More a dark thriller, it has moments that brings you to the edge of your seats,Sri Ganesh, the newbie has managed to narrate the story in an entertaining manner. But the course of action is told in a gripping manner that manages to hold your attention.
However there is action with romance and emotions too in the movie.A debutant Vetri plays the hero and he is right there delivering his best on screen. He gets under the skin of the character and delivers it with aplomb.
Newcomer Aparna Murali does manage to leave an impression though her role is short. It manages to leave a chord with masses.M S Bhaskar and Nasser are the stalk and cheese of the movie.
Former does a woinderful jopb and his subtle emotion takes away all applause, while the latter as rude police officer leaves an impression with his performance. Cinematography by Dinesh and editing by Nagooran adds more pep to the proceedings.
The former captures the mood well, while the latter makes iot a racy affair.Sundaramoorthy music is good and BGM are great. But for some dull moments, 8 Thottakal is a decent affair.
8 Thottakkal_ Slow but steady
